For those interested, UO T2A is probably the best representation of “The Way It Was.”

Sue is our Labyrinth Lord, so I bought her a copy of Dyson’s Delves – Limited Edition. At the time, she was using the book to look up Ghoul stats. I didn’t care, but the stats were never going to match, because . . .

The Death Masks the Ghouls are wearing make them more powerful than normal Ghouls.

Facing eight Ghouls, scary. Facing eight Ghouls wearing Death Masks, a heart attack.

If the edit was not clear, Circe switched places with Amber before casting her spell. Dice were rolled; she was not hit by the Ghoul when they switched. I did not cut this out so much as it was just dice rolls in the moment without much verbalization of what was happening.

As mentioned at the end of the last episode, The Delvers’ starting tactic was to use the doorway as a choke point.

Additional DM Notes:

This session takes place in “Barrowmaze II”

The sharp, piercing weapons doing half damage against against skeletons is a house rule. It’s worth noting this is something The Delvers carried over into Labyrinth Lord, which was fine with me.

In our first Barrowmaze campaign, The Delvers discovered the secret passage under the sarcophagus. I passed this off to their characters as an aside from the Captain who sold them the pirate map. Again, the pirate map is the player’s previous campaign map; the map is not something from me, the Dungeon Master.

The Dwarven Runes were accompanied by an arrow pointing to the exact spot on the wall. No real search was needed; I was not interested in wasting their time in a room they had thoroughly searched with their pirates. On purpose or not, The Delvers decided otherwise.

When searching, Sue looked at the map and saw the arrow. She then went right to the spot, while Tess was looking everywhere else.

This session takes place in "Barrowmaze II"
The sharp, piercing weapons doing half damage against against skeletons is a house rule. It's worth noting this is something The Delvers carried over into Labyrinth Lord, which was fine with me.
In our first Barrowmaze campaign, The Delvers discovered the secret passage under the sarcophagus. I passed this off to their characters as an aside from the Captain who sold them the pirate map. Again, the pirate map is the player's previous campaign map; the map is not something from me, the Dungeon Master.
After running two Barrowmaze campaigns, the next campaign is not going to use a map that is larger than a single sheet of graph paper.
I was happy to hear that Sue was not making a reference to one of the lamest memes on the internets.
I say with sincerity The Delvers are "lucky" and "prepared" near the end. Are they?

The Trinity: Dark Dungeons, Patricia Pulling and Tom Hanks
Specifically, Greg Gillespie was inspired by the Rona Jaffe 1981 novel, not the 1982 made-for-TV movie.
Link to the Barrowmaze Rumor Table PDF used.
When their pirates first discovered a Runic Tablet.
	Pardue encounters a Gorvil.
It still bugs me that everyone (me included) forgot Rothgar started with one eye. Clearly the man who healed him was great.
Both Pardue the Holy Man and Freelik of Glossimi are pregenerated characters in Barrowmaze I & II respectively.
All of the "henchmen" are I listed are also pregen characters; they are not people you normally hire.
If you were curious, the Paladin is level 4
Wrong die = Cursed Barrowmaze die
Youtube copy of Sponny's entertaining Mazes and Monsters movie review.
Mazes and Monsters used under non-commercial fair use and was produced by McDermott Productions, Inc. & Procter & Gamble Productions, Inc

The origins of the constellation game.

The Orcs Tess mentions kept Carrion Crawlers around to dispose of the dead and organic waste. To keep the Carrion Crawlers from coming up from their liar, the Orcs coated the cave steps leading to the Orc stronghold with oil. That’s the “slime” she was falsely recalling.

In the Crypts of Cocytus, Tess also waited for Kay and Sue in a similar fashion. Kay wandered off to a wine cellar above and Sue left the crypts to talk to the villagers in the middle of a dungeon crawl.

I state the Ranger recognizes the constellations, yet the Half-Orc names all of them. It follows that a pirate who navigates by the stars would know more than the Ranger, right?

Well, apparently the Ranger knows more about mythology instead. Kay is correct; Cerberus is clearly not a Hydra.

Apparently Kay also knows more than the Dungeon Master. “If they are spitting doesn’t that mean that they’re ranged?” At the time, I didn’t understand what she was getting at, so I just moved on. Maybe next time when I say “In melee combat with the caster . . .” I should pay attention to my own words. Thankfully, in this case, the end results would be the same.

The half-orc leaving her dog’s corpse in the limestone chamber was no mistake.

Mm. Hm.

Note to self: Have some skeletons carry a light source.

What was I doing? I was looking up a picture of the Fire Beetles to share.

It was not until I listened to this recording that I caught that Sue said, “Let’s cut [Hunter] open,” when Kay suggested Hunter’s stomach was glowing. Hilarious.

Did I mention Hunter is totally a male dog’s name?

Fort Ironwood is where the Order of the Hammer reside; I steal a lot of elements from the Thief games.

The guards Kay played, Braeburn and Aloe, live in Fort Ironwood where the kennels are located. As the guards, Kay was exploring her idea that the thieves guild is located in the sewers. I used Dyson’s map, The Sewers of Travon, for our one-shot (which has dog kennels).

At the time, I could not tell if Kay was choosing not to meta-game or really didn’t remember where the kennels were.

You don’t “hire” a dog, but it does count as a hireling/henchmen in Dogs in the Dungeon.

Although Tess kept asking me to let Kay re-roll, I know that Kay is like me. We don’t cheat.

After Kay’s character Aria lost her mining bird in the first Barrowmaze campaign, she bought another one at a traveling carnival.

The Delvers have encountered Homunculi and Harpies in their first campaign. I have no issues with players meta-gaming monster knowledge, but this was their first time facing Stirges.
